This is the new home for the UMIST MEDE Society.
Due to Virgin Media's unfortunate decision to cease to support personal web hosting (grrr), I have had to move this site to a new provider. The good thing is that it gives me a chance to update the site and make it a bit more 'modern'.
MEDE SOC
The UMIST MEDE (Microprocessor Engineering & Digital Electronics) Society was formed in 1984 by the 4 dodgy looking characters below (the 'Lads'). This was a Steve Harris shameful attempt to extract some money from the UMIST students' union by setting up a society for the MSc course we were studying at the time (the money was to be used for 'educational' trips to breweries etc)!! We never did get any money out of the students union but since getting our MScs in 1985 we have all met up every year for a weekend away. This site is a record of all the weekends we have been away. Unfortunately as we are now all getting on a bit and have got through several gallons of beer since then, the early trips are a little sketchy !
