Highlights
Despite the high spring temperature, Steve decides
that it is still best to wear a scarf inside the pub
We have some fun watching a strange game of Canoe
Water Polo
The Avon Gorge hotel is so overwhelmed by the
complexity of Pete’s order (3 coffees and a tea) that they have to send
out for consultants to process it and order special cows (this therefore
explains the 45 minute delay)
The Camera Obscura – excellent !
The Giants Cave – a great view over the Avon Gorge
Despite not being sure of the name or exact location
of the Seven Stars real ale pub, a combination of David’s vague location
and Nigel’s eagle eyes – we manage to find it
Quotes
David (to Pete) : “So... when are you 50 then ?”
Pete : “In 9 days time”
Steve : “So.. what’s it feel like to be 50 ?”
Pete: “Err.. don’t know.. I am only 49 !”
Nigel: “This friend of mine is making £1000 per day in feed in
tariff”
Steve : “Fantastic !! – So whats’ that in volumetric energy levels per unit
widget ?”
David : “I know this good Bangladeshi restaurant” (it is
actually Indian!)
Steve (to the guide in the Clifton Suspension Bridge visitor
centre) : “So...why is this bridge here then ?”
Steve (to the barman in the Avon Gorge Hotel) : “So..any
chance of our coffees being delivered before we leave tomorrow ?”
Pete: “I am really disappointed that we have never had a lad’s
weekend trip to Blackpool” (ok – might have made that one up )
Steve : “This Google Maps is really clever – apparently..
Scarborough is in Yorkshire”
